The Gran Paradiso Film Festival continues to be in full swing: after the success of the 27th edition, which saw great participation both on site and online, preparations are already underway for the next edition, scheduled from 28 July to 2 August 2025 in Cogne and in the following weeks in the Gran Paradiso area and on the web (all details will be published on the website www.gpff.it). The spirit remains the same: to contribute to raising awareness of the extraordinary nature around the world, combining the images of the films in competition with conferences and food for thought that have the power to convey a message of care for nature and the environment.

As of October, registration for the 28th International Competition of films dedicated to nature and environmental issues is officially open. The application is free of charge and open to anyone who has produced a feature film or short film – in the latter case a documentary, fiction or animation film of a maximum duration of 20 minutes – about nature and released after 1st January 2022.

Each director may submit up to two works – as long as they have never been selected in previous editions – and compete for various prizes. The main prizes are the following:

  • “Stambecco d’Oro” (3,000€)
  • “Stambecco d’Oro Junior” (500€)
  • CortoNatura Award (2,000€)
  • GPFF online Award (1,500€)

The organisation must receive the entry form and materials to be attached no later than 28th February 2025.

Requirements and terms of participation are detailed in the rules and regulations, which can be consulted on the festival website.

In addition to the technical jury – composed of image professionals, animal filmmakers and authoritative personalities from the worlds of science, culture and nature – the audience jury will vote on the competing titles. In fact, it will be the spectators who will award the “Stambecco d’Oro”, by participating in the free screenings and casting their vote. The “Stambecco d’Oro Junior” will instead be awarded by the youngest audience, while the GPFF Online Award will be conferred by the online jury, who will be able to watch the films via a streaming platform and vote from their own device. The Gran Paradiso Film Festival thus confirms itself as an international event, open to all and increasingly digital-oriented.
